The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is set to be arraigned today, Wednesday, November 27, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.

This follows his voluntary surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accompanied by his legal team.

The EFCC has accused Bello of engaging in fraud and financial misconduct during his time as governor.

These allegations have led to a public summons issued by the court on October 3.

Justice Maryan Anenih will preside over the proceedings at the FCT high court in Maitama.

Dele Oyewale, the EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed that Bello would appear in court but did not provide specific details about the charges.

"The arraignment is part of our commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in governance," Oyewale stated.
