Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has addressed the swirling rumors that she was pregnant with American rapper Future's child.
The speculation began after Tems was seen at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show in December last year, wearing a black dress paired with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels. Observers noted that the way the dress clung to her body suggested she might be pregnant.
Appearing on a recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’, Tems expressed her bewilderment over the choice of Future as the alleged father.
She questioned, “People just take the most controversial things. Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest.”
She further added, “Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.”
Tems highlighted that Future's reputation as a "ladies' man" with multiple children from different women likely fueled the rumors. She stated, “He has about five kids. And has a reputation of being a ladies’ man.”
Despite the absurdity of the rumors, Tems took the opportunity to share her thoughts on the matter openly. She also revealed the top rap artists who have inspired her, mentioning Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J.Cole.
Notably, Tems and Drake have collaborated twice, first on Drake’s song ‘Fountain’ and later as guests on Future’s ‘Wait 4 U’, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
