Liverpool manager Arne Slott said his side's determination and execution "wasn't good enough" after their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds have won their first three Premier League games under Slott and were hoping to continue their perfect start at home.
However, Callum Hudson-Odoi struck in the second half to stun Anfield.
Speaking after the game, Slot said: “It was a stop-start game and we hardly created any chances. "We just need to look at ourselves and we need to be better.
"We lost the ball in the box too many times and it just wasn't good enough. We need to take better care of the ball.
Our decisions and execution were not good enough. Overall we defended well but they made it difficult for us with two fast players coming in. We took a lot of risks but in the end it was a very good goal.
