We Deserve to Beat Tottenham in London Derby – Fulham's Bassey Insists

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey in a recent Premier League match expressed his belief that the team deserved to win against Tottenham Hotspur, despite the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

This sentiment was shared in light of Fulham's performance following a heavy 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers the previous week. The Cottagers responded with a stronger showing, creating better chances even though Spurs dominated possession.

Brennan Johnson put Tottenham ahead in the 54th minute after Bassey was caught out of position inside the box. However, Fulham's captain Tom Carney equalized 13 minutes later, assisted by Alex Iwobi. Despite Carney receiving a red card seven minutes before the end of the match, Fulham managed to hold on for a point.

Bassey commented on the team's misfortune, stating, "I think we deserved more." He highlighted the impact of Tottenham's goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, who made "some incredible saves—three that could have been goals."

Bassey also noted the team's bad luck with the red card, which disrupted their momentum. Nevertheless, he praised Fulham's improved game management, which prevented them from conceding late goals—a recurring issue in past matches.
