Nigerian highlife musician Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, in a recent social media exchange seemingly accused his colleague Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, of copying his style.
This accusation was made through a tweet where Flavour referred to an unnamed artist as a "copycat." In response, Kcee took to his own social media platform to address the allegations directly.
Kcee's reply was assertive and dismissive, stating, "Bro, we are not on the same level. Pick your battles carefully." He further criticized Flavour for attempting to "gatekeep Igbo culture," emphasizing that Flavour is not its sole custodian.
Kcee highlighted his own contributions to the music industry, noting that he has been active before Flavour and sees no reason to apologize for creating music that celebrates his heritage.
