Victor Osimhen Fires Brace in Galatasaray's Commanding Away Victory


Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen delivered an outstanding performance, scoring twice to propel Galatasaray to a resounding 5-1 victory over Kayserispor.


The match, held at the Kadir Has Şehir Stadı, further solidified Galatasaray's dominance in the Turkish Süper Lig. Osimhen, who has been a formidable force since joining Galatasaray, opened the scoring early in the 4th minute with confidently taken penalty.


The spot-kick was awarded following a handball by Kayserispor defender Joseph Attamah, and Osimhen expertly placed the ball beyond goalkeeper Onurcan Piri's reach.


This early goal set the tone for what would become a commanding performance by the visitors. Despite Kayserispor's brief equalizer through Stéphane Bahoken, Galatasaray quickly regained control. Barış Yılmaz restored their lead in the 29th minute, ensuring a 2-1 advantage at halftime.


The second half saw Yunus Akgün extend the lead before turning provider for Osimhen's second goal in the 71st minute. Yılmaz capped off the night with his second goal in the 87th minute, sealing an emphatic victory for Galatasaray.


Osimhen's contribution was not limited to scoring; he also played a crucial role in creating opportunities for his teammates. His performance was marked by three key passes and the creation of two significant chances, underscoring his influence on the pitch.


Despite having only 25 touches, Osimhen's impact was undeniable, as he completed one successful dribble and won all his ground duels. Reflecting on the match, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk praised Osimhen's performance, stating, "Victor's ability to find the back of the net and create opportunities for others is invaluable. His presence on the field elevates our game."


Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has been prolific, contributing to 16 goals in just 15 appearances, with 12 goals and four assists to his name. His stellar form has been instrumental in Galatasaray's current standing at the top of the league table, leading with 44 points.


The victory against Kayserispor not only extended Galatasaray's unbeaten streak but also widened the gap between them and their closest rivals, Fenerbahçe.


As the season progresses, Galatasaray aims to maintain their momentum and continue their pursuit of the league title. For Kayserispor, the defeat marked their third consecutive loss, leaving them precariously positioned near the bottom of the table.


Coach Sinan Kaloğlu acknowledged the challenges ahead, emphasizing the need for strategic adjustments to overcome their current struggles.


As Galatasaray prepares for their next match against Göztepe, fans eagerly anticipate another stellar performance from Osimhen, whose contributions have been pivotal in the team's success this season.
