US Election Debate: Trump Accuses Kamala Harris of Copying Biden's Plan

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump engaged in a contentious argument on September 10, 2024, during their first-ever debate, the topics of contention included immigration, the economy, and foreign policy.

The debate, which lasted over 90 minutes, was marked by personal attacks and accusations rather than substantive policy discussions.

Trump repeatedly accused Harris of copying President Joe Biden's plans, particularly in areas such as healthcare and immigration.

He claimed that Harris would pursue "open-border policies" and falsely alleged that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were "eating people’s pets." City officials have dismissed these accounts as untrue.

Harris, on the other hand, questioned Trump's fitness for office, calling him a "disgrace" and highlighting the Republicans and former aides who turned against him after his 2016 victory.

She also pointed out that autocratic leaders are rooting for Trump to be president again, suggesting they believe they can manipulate him with flattery and favors.

The debate also touched on the ongoing war in Gaza. Harris reiterated her support for a ceasefire deal that would see the release of Israeli captives while continuing to arm Israel.

Trump, however, struggled to stay on message, often zigzagging across topics and failing to provide focused answers.
