A notorious Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, has surrendered to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Kukawa Local Government of Borno State.
This was confirmed by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba in a statement issued on September 28, 2024.
Bochu Abacha, a key figure in several Boko Haram and ISWAP operations along the Mongunu-Baga axis, admitted to losing interest in the terrorist cause.
According to Colonel Osoba, Bochu confessed that he decided to surrender due to the intense operations conducted by the MNJTF.
"He disclosed to have escaped from a Boko Haram camp in Mussaram with his weapon," said Colonel Osoba.
Upon his surrender, authorities recovered an AK 47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an AIRTEL SIM card, and Thirty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N32,500) from Bochu.
He is currently providing valuable intelligence to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
