Tinubu on Course to Transform Nigeria Same Way He Did in Lagos – French President Macron Says

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his belief that Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu, is on a mission to transform Nigeria in a manner similar to his transformative governance of Lagos State.

This statement was made during a state visit by Tinubu to France, where he arrived on Wednesday evening. Speaking at a dinner in Paris on Thursday, Macron highlighted Tinubu's past achievements, noting that he "conquered military rule" and transformed the economy of Lagos.

Macron praised Nigeria as a "formidable country with talented young people," acknowledging the exceptional contributions of Nigerians in various fields.

In response, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of strong bilateral relations between Nigeria and France, stating, "Regarding Nigeria’s economy, as you have said, we have embarked on a very strong reform, and there is no looking back."

He underlined the necessity for Africa to move forward with commitment and optimism, drawing inspiration from the courage of its founding fathers. Tinubu assured Macron that his efforts concerning Africa would not be in vain, expressing gratitude for the opportunities for investment and collaboration extended by France.

The event was attended by notable Nigerian figures such as Aliko Dangote, Aig Imoukhuede, and Tony Elumelu, highlighting the importance of the occasion in fostering economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
