Governor Siminalayi Fubara has vowed that those responsible for the attacks on local government secretariats will face justice.
During the presentation of the State Commission of Inquiry's report, led by Justice Ibiwengi Minakiri, Fubara emphasized his commitment to implementing the report's recommendations, regardless of who is implicated.
Governor Fubara stated, "Politics should not be synonymous with violence but a contest of ideas without permanent enemies or friends."
He expressed disbelief at the notion that individuals could destroy the very council complexes they helped build, linking recent attacks to past violent incidents, such as the court bombings before the 2015 elections.
The Commission's comprehensive four-volume report, which includes memoranda, exhibits, and records of proceedings, was compiled despite facing legal challenges and other forms of obstruction.
Justice Minakiri highlighted the importance of the report, noting that it uncovered hidden facts about the state and urged the governor to implement its recommendations to ensure lasting peace.
