Nigerian singer Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has candidly shared his struggles with relationships.
In a recent interview with Naija FM, the "Asiwaju" crooner revealed that despite being a self-proclaimed "loverboy," he has come to realize that relationships simply do not work for him.
Ruger explained, "I am a loverboy, it’s just now that I understand that relationships don’t work for me. But normally, my first instinct when I see a girl is to think about how I can get serious with her. But later, I just become unserious all of a sudden."
Ruger further elaborated on his interactions with female fans, stating that he maintains a professional boundary and does not take these interactions beyond the stage.
He mentioned, "Honestly, no! The most I can give my female fan on stage is a flower. It’s like we’re working together; that’s how it is for me. I don’t take it beyond the stage, we work together."
Despite his personal challenges in relationships, Ruger expressed gratitude for the blessings in his career, emphasizing his commitment to supporting his family and managing his responsibilities.
He stated, "I don’t want to go back to the streets; I have to take care of my family. It wasn’t easy when I started, and it’s still not easy now. I pay people’s salaries now. I pay for a lot of things, and I’m planning a lot of things by myself. God has just been blessing my efforts."
