Tems Stretches Her Record as the Most Certified Nigerian Female Artist in the US

Tems has solidified her status as the most certified Nigerian female artist in the United States with her latest achievements.

As of November 12, 2024, Tems has earned another RIAA platinum plaque for her song "Found," featuring Brent Faiyaz, which has sold over one million units in the US.

This track is part of her second EP, "If Orange Was A Place," released in 2021. The song gained popularity following Tems' rise to fame with her standout performance on Wizkid’s hit "Essence."

With this new accolade, Tems now boasts three platinum certifications in the US for "Wait For U" featuring Future, "Free Mind," and "Found." Additionally, she has achieved RIAA gold certifications for her song "Higher," which charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and for her EP "For Broken Ears."

These accomplishments make her the first Nigerian female artist to have an RIAA gold-certified album. Tems joins the ranks of fellow Nigerian artists Rema and Wizkid, who also have RIAA-certified projects, including Wizkid’s "Made In Lagos" and Rema’s "Raves & Roses," both of which are RIAA gold-certified.
