Telecom Operators Must Update Contact Details by January 9 or Face Stiff Penalties - NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a firm directive to all licensed telecom operators. By January 9, 2025, these operators are required to update their contact information in accordance with the Licensing Regulations 2019.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve industry responsiveness and ensure effective communication within the sector.

The NCC has emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate contact data, which includes business addresses, mailing addresses, email contacts, phone numbers, and key personnel information.

Operators are expected to report any changes within seven days via the NCC's eServices platform. Failure to comply with this mandate could result in severe consequences, including fines, license suspension, or even revocation.

"The accuracy of contact information is crucial for enhancing regulatory processes and fostering better engagement within the telecom industry," an NCC spokesperson stated.

This directive not only aims to streamline communication but also underscores themes of corporate governance and transparency, reflecting the evolving demands of modern telecommunications management.
