Sean "Diddy" Combs, the 54-year-old music mogul has been charged with sex trafficking following a months-long federal investigation that culminated in his arrest in New York City on Monday night.
The unsealed indictment reveals a series of grave allegations against Combs, including charges of racketeering and transportation for prostitution.
The indictment accuses Combs of orchestrating events known as "Freak Offs," where victims were coerced into engaging in sexual activities with sex workers while being recorded. These events reportedly involved transporting sex workers across state lines and internationally, sometimes lasting several days and involving multiple participants.
According to court documents, Combs "abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct."
In March 2024, law enforcement conducted searches of Combs' residences in Miami and Los Angeles, seizing various items related to these "Freak Offs," including narcotics and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.
The indictment also details how Combs allegedly used "sensitive, embarrassing, and incriminating recordings" made during these events as collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims.
Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated that the musician had "voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges," adding that his client has "nothing to hide." Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Agnifilo described Combs as "a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community."
