Russia Condemns Killing Of Hezbollah's Nasrallah

Russia has strongly condemned the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. The Russian Foreign Ministry labeled the act as "yet another political assassination" and warned that it could lead to dramatic consequences for Lebanon and the entire Middle East.

The ministry emphasized that Israel's actions would almost inevitably provoke a new outburst of violence, holding Israel fully responsible for the subsequent escalation.

The airstrike, which took place on September 27, targeted Hezbollah's central command headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Alongside Nasrallah, the strike also killed Ali Karki, the commander of Hezbollah's southern front, and other senior leaders of the group.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that real-time intelligence facilitated the operation, which was part of a broader campaign against Hezbollah amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas.

In response to the killing, Iran vowed that the strike "will not go unanswered," heightening fears of a broader regional conflict.

The Pentagon is currently considering options to increase U.S. military presence in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the situation has led to significant displacement within Lebanon, with up to one million people affected.

Nasrallah, who had led Hezbollah since 1992, was a prominent figure in the Middle East, known for his fiery rhetoric and strategic acumen.

His death marks a significant blow to Hezbollah, which has been a formidable paramilitary force in the region.

Under his leadership, Hezbollah expanded its political influence in Lebanon and maintained strong ties with Iran and Russia.
