Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has achieved a historic milestone with his hit song "Calm Down Remix," featuring American pop sensation Selena Gomez.
This track has become the first Afrobeats song to surpass one billion views on YouTube, marking a significant achievement in the global music scene.
The video, uploaded on Gomez's YouTube channel just two years ago, not only became the first Nigerian song to reach this milestone but also set the record as the fastest African track to achieve one billion views on the platform.
The original version of "Calm Down" has also captivated audiences worldwide, amassing over 619 million views. Meanwhile, the remix version, released in August last year, has set records as the first African song to hit the billion mark on Spotify, where it now boasts over 1.5 billion streams.
