American rapper Lil Durk, legally known as Devontay Banks, finds himself embroiled in a complex legal quagmire linked to multiple murder cases, according to recent reports from the Chicago Tribune.
The investigation primarily focuses on the 2022 shooting death of Stephon Mack, an alleged gang leader, who was fatally shot outside a youth center in Chicago.
Authorities allege that Lil Durk orchestrated this fatal incident as an act of vengeance against the Gangster Disciples street gang.
This retaliation is purportedly in response to the 2021 murder of Durk's brother, Dontay Banks, by an associate of the same gang.
A federal agent reportedly stated, "Lil Durk was and still is offering money for people to kill those responsible for his brother’s murder, and more specifically, offering to pay money for any Gangster Disciple that is killed."
Despite these serious allegations, it is important to note that Durk has not been formally charged in connection with the Mack murder case, which remains "open and active," according to Chicago law enforcement.
