R&B Singer Khalid Comes Out as Gay, After Being Outed by Fellow Artist

R&B singer Khalid has publicly come out as gay, following an incident where he was reportedly outed by another artist.

The announcement was made when Khalid took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his truth with fans and followers. Khalid's post featured a rainbow flag emoji, accompanied by the words, “there yall go. next topic please lol.”

This candid declaration came in response to online speculation about his sexuality, which had been fueled by a tweet from another user questioning, “Wait hope Mr Khalid isn’t GEHHH!” Khalid confirmed, “I am! And, that’s okay.”

The situation unfolded after fellow singer Hugo D Almonte allegedly revealed Khalid's sexuality without his consent through a series of now-deleted posts.

Despite the unexpected outing, Khalid expressed a sense of peace with his identity, stating, “I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me. love yall.”

Khalid emphasized the importance of privacy, asserting, “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business,” while also highlighting his comfort and self-acceptance.

Fans have largely rallied around him, pointing to previous works like his 2022 song "Satellite," which some interpret as an LGBTQ anthem, as evidence of his longstanding support for the community.
