President Bola Ahmed Tinubu humorously addressed lawmakers during the presentation of the 2025 budget to the National Assembly.
The incident occurred when President Tinubu mistakenly referred to the current 10th National Assembly as the 11th Assembly.
During his address, President Tinubu stated, “In fulfilment of one of my constitutional duties and with an unyielding commitment to rebuilding Nigeria towards ensuring that we remain steadfast on a journey to a prosperous future, I hereby present the 2025 budget to the joint session of the 11th National Assembly.”
This prompted immediate corrections from the legislators, reminding him that they were indeed the 10th Assembly.
In response to the correction, President Tinubu quipped, “10th? I wrote 11th, which means you’re all reelected,” eliciting laughter from those present and creating a viral sensation online.
