President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived at the National Assembly to present the much-anticipated 2025 national budget.

The presentation marks the culmination of a series of delays and is a pivotal moment in Nigeria's fiscal planning.

President Tinubu, accompanied by several officials from the executive arm of government, made his entrance at exactly 12:10 PM. His arrival was met with a warm reception from key legislative figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

The presence of the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, along with members of the National Working Committee, shows the importance of this occasion.

The 2025 budget presentation is not just a routine exercise but a strategic blueprint aimed at steering Nigeria towards economic stability and growth.

The proposed budget outlines total outlays of $7.3 trillion, which constitutes 24.8 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It also projects receipts amounting to $5.5 trillion, representing 18.7 percent of GDP.

These figures reflect the government's commitment to maintaining fiscal discipline while addressing the nation's developmental needs.

As President Tinubu addressed the joint session of lawmakers, he expressed gratitude for their role in sustaining Nigeria's democratic journey, which has now reached a milestone of 25 years of unbroken democracy. "This budget is a testament to our collective resolve to foster inclusive capitalism and equitable economic growth," he stated, emphasizing the administration's focus on innovation and global competitiveness.

The budget presentation is a critical tool for allocating resources, tracking expenses, and outlining financial goals for the upcoming fiscal year. It serves as a roadmap for Nigeria's economic success, highlighting the need for financial discipline and strategic investment.
