Police Arrested Six Suspect in Rivers for Cyber Fraud, Ritual Activities And Defrauding


The Zone 16 Command of the Nigerian Police Force, headquartered in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has apprehended six suspects involved in a series of criminal activities.


The arrests were made following a covert operation conducted by the Zonal Anti-Money Laundering/Countering Financing Terrorism team led by CSP Isaac Uhawha.


The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Chinedu (34), Uche Darlington Mark (33), Micah Douglas (22), Stephen Martins (29), Jack Prosper (22), and Shimkayah Oju Ibor (18), were arrested at Progress Estate, Eneka, Rukpoku in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.


According to SP Emonena Gunn, the Zonal Police Relations Officer, "The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday, December 17, after credible intelligence was received."


These individuals are accused of impersonating a Canadian actor to defraud foreign women, including a Finnish woman named Kirsi and an American woman named Brenda, of 1,300 Euros and 12,000 Dollars respectively.


During the investigation, police recovered several items believed to be used in their operations, including a Mercedes SUV, laptops, phones, electronic devices, and diabolic ritual items such as spiritual soaps and red cloths.


"The suspects confessed to being involved in fraudulent activities amounting to over N700,000,000," stated SP Gunn. The police have assured that the suspects will be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
