PDP Seeks Unity, BOT to Meet Wike

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of Nigeria's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to meet with former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in January 2025.

This decision emerged from an emergency meeting held in Abuja, where BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara underscored the importance of unity and collective determination within the party.

Senator Wabara emphasized that "we cannot afford to let personal ambitions or differences overshadow our shared vision for a better Nigeria." He called for prioritizing dialogue, collaboration, and a sense of shared responsibility as the party navigates these challenging times.

The BoT's initiative comes amid criticism of the National Working Committee, led by Umar Damagum, for its repeated postponements of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.

Wabara expressed concern that these delays are eroding trust and confidence among PDP members, stating, "This delay not only undermines the trust and confidence of our members."
