The Nigerian Army's South-East Joint Task Force, known as Operation Udoka, executed a significant counter-terrorism operation in Abia State.
According to Lt. Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the operation resulted in the neutralization of four suspected terrorists in the forested area of Umuaku Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area (LGA).
This action was based on "credible information" received by the task force.
The operation extended beyond Abia State, targeting a camp associated with the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
The raid led to the destruction of the camp and the recovery of arms, vehicles, and other items. Similar operations were conducted in Imo State, where additional camps were raided, further disrupting ESN activities.
Lt. Col. Unuakhalu emphasized the Army's commitment to maintaining security and territorial integrity across Nigeria, stating, "Our operations are part of a broader strategy to combat terrorism and ensure peace in the region."
The Army also addressed and refuted rumors of insurgents taking over a military training camp in Niger, reinforcing their dedication to national security.
