Nigeria Customs Service Appoints First Female Pilot


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the appointment of Deputy Superintendent Olanike Balogun as its first female pilot.


This significant milestone was revealed by the NCS spokesperson, Abdullahi Maiwada, in a statement released on Sunday.


The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, praised Balogun's dedication and highlighted her achievement as a testament to the Service’s commitment to capacity building and innovation.


"Her story exemplifies what is possible with determination and institutional support," Adeniyi remarked.


Balogun, reflecting on her groundbreaking role, expressed her hope to inspire women within and beyond the service.


"My role as the first female pilot in the service reflects my commitment as a woman to advancing my passionate dream as well as the operational capabilities of the NCS," she stated.
