Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 38-year-old alleged drug mule, Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano State.
According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi on Sunday, the suspect was apprehended while attempting to board a Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha with 76 wraps of cocaine in his stomach.
The arrest took place on September 15, and after three days under excretion observation, Okafor excreted the 76 pellets of ingested cocaine, which weighed a total of 1.267kg.
This operation shows the agency's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking within Nigeria.
