Nasarawa Speaker Enforces Strict Punctuality Policy, Locks Out Late Staff From Assembly Office

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, on Wednesday locked out staff of the state House of Assembly who failed to return to work within official hours. Unhappy with the inaction of the Assembly, the Speaker said his administration would not tolerate indiscipline and warned Assembly staff not to delay work.


The President told reporters after visiting offices to check attendance and punctuality of employees. The speaker, who was at the office at 8:30 am, deplored a bad attitude towards work, saying that the 7th meeting for her hours would not allow certain employees to sabotage the work of the legislative institution.


According to him, any organization that does not discipline such an organization will not go ahead, employees must therefore discipline themselves or we disciplins. "His Excellency is doing well and doing everything he can to improve the welfare of the workers.


"And the Assembly under my leadership will continue to prioritise the welfare of the House staff, but I will not tolerate indiscipline. "I have asked my staff to discipline staff who are not punctual and do not perform their duties as expected," he said.


He assured that he would continue to work to improve the welfare of parliamentary staff, stressing that they must be seen to be doing the needful.
