NAF Conducts Airstrike on ISWAP Gathering, Eliminates Multiple Terrorists in Borno State

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of Operation Hadin Kai, recently executed a pivotal airstrike targeting a gathering of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Kaula, Borno State.

This operation resulted in the elimination of several insurgents and was a strategic move to thwart potential attacks on military installations in the region.

The operation was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism and insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad Basin. According to Makama, intelligence reports indicated that ISWAP terrorists were amassing at the site with gun trucks, motorcycles, and other logistical supplies. This buildup was reportedly intended to coordinate an attack on nearby military installations, particularly targeting Malam Fatori.

In response to this imminent threat, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai swiftly conducted targeted airstrikes on the terrorist gathering. The precision strikes led to the destruction of the terrorists' vehicles and equipment, significantly disrupting their plans. The operation not only neutralized several insurgents but also diminished their capacity to launch an attack on the Mallam Fatori troops’ location.

This decisive action by the NAF signifies the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Nigeria, particularly in the volatile northeastern region. The airstrike is part of a broader strategy to maintain security and stability in areas plagued by insurgent activities. The success of this operation highlights the importance of timely intelligence and rapid response in counterterrorism efforts.

The Nigerian Air Force's commitment to safeguarding the nation from terrorist threats remains unwavering. By executing such operations, the NAF continues to play a crucial role in the fight against insurgency, ensuring the safety and security of both military personnel and civilians in affected regions.
