Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has captivated audiences not only with her music but also with her unique approach to beauty.

During a recent Maybelline makeup event in New York, the Grammy-nominated artist shared insights into her personal beauty rituals, which have become a topic of interest for many fans and beauty enthusiasts alike.

Ayra Starr's beauty routine is refreshingly simple yet deeply personal. She emphasizes the importance of self-care and self-expression, stating, "My beauty ritual is sleeping and dancing in front of the mirror. Girls, you have to do that. You have to put yourself first."

The young artist's beauty philosophy is rooted in the idea of self-empowerment. By engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation, such as dancing, she maintains a positive outlook and a radiant appearance.

Dancing in front of the mirror is not just a physical activity for Ayra Starr; it is a form of expression and a way to connect with her inner self. This ritual allows her to embrace her individuality and celebrate her uniqueness, qualities that are evident in her music and public persona.

Ayra Starr's approach to beauty extends beyond traditional practices. She challenges conventional norms by prioritizing activities that nurture her mental and emotional well-being. Her emphasis on sleep as a crucial component of her beauty regimen highlights the importance of rest in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Adequate sleep is essential for rejuvenation and plays a vital role in achieving a glowing complexion and overall vitality.

In addition to her beauty rituals, Ayra Starr's success in the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Recently, she emerged as the most-streamed female artist in three African countries—Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya—according to Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped findings.

This achievement shows her growing influence and the impact of female artists in Sub-Saharan Africa's music scene. The streaming platform highlighted Starr’s monumental success, reflecting the increasing recognition and appreciation of her talent across the continent.

Ayra Starr's journey in the music industry began with her self-titled debut extended play, released on January 22, 2021, through Mavin Records. Since then, she has continued to captivate audiences with her unique sound, which seamlessly blends amapiano, funk, pop, and R&B with Afrobeats. Her multicultural background, having been born in Benin to Nigerian parents and living in cities like Abuja and Lagos, has significantly influenced her music style and artistic expression.

Despite her rising fame, Ayra Starr remains grounded and connected to her roots. She draws inspiration from her family, particularly her mother, a former singer, and her brother Dami, a guitarist and songwriter. Growing up in a music-loving family, she developed a passion for singing at a young age, performing in a high school choir and writing songs with her brother. Her educational background includes a BA degree in international relations and political science from Les Cours Sonou University, showcasing her diverse interests and commitment to personal growth.
