Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho has clarified his stance on not pursuing a transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese coach, known for his straightforward approach, addressed the swirling rumors linking the Al-Nassr superstar with a move to the Turkish club.
Speaking candidly, Mourinho stated, "Cristiano Ronaldo will not come. The first reason is that I have three good forwards and I don't want another one." He emphasized his satisfaction with the current attacking lineup at Fenerbahce, which includes Edin Dzeko, Cenk Tosun, and Youssef En-Nesyri. This trio has been instrumental in propelling the team to second place in the Super Lig, just three points behind leaders Galatasaray.
Despite the speculation fueled by Turkish media, Mourinho was quick to dismiss any potential reunion with Ronaldo, whom he previously coached during their successful stint at Real Madrid. "News about Cristiano Ronaldo to Fenerbahce are ridiculous," Mourinho remarked, further adding a light-hearted note, "Cristiano might come to Istanbul to eat because it's right in the middle of the road between Saudi and Portugal. Or maybe he'll come see his old friend José, we can eat at my hotel."
Ronaldo, currently 39 years old, continues to impress with his performance at Al-Nassr, having scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances this season. However, Mourinho remains firm in his decision, focusing on building a cohesive team without the need for additional star power.
