Manchester United Stuns Man City with 2-1 Comeback Victory at the Etihad

Manchester United staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium. The victory was marked by late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo, leaving City fans in disbelief and piling pressure on Pep Guardiola's side.

The match began with Manchester City taking the lead in the first half through a header by Josko Gvardiol. City appeared poised for a crucial win, but United had other plans. Despite struggling to create opportunities for most of the game, United found their breakthrough in the dying minutes.

With just minutes left on the clock, Matheus Nunes fouled Amad Diallo in the penalty area, allowing Bruno Fernandes to level the score with a well-taken penalty. The drama didn't end there, as Amad Diallo emerged as the hero, scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute. "It was an incredible moment," said Diallo, reflecting on his decisive strike.

Ruben Amorim, United's manager, praised the team's resilience and highlighted the contributions of Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy in Diallo's development. "It was the work with Erik and then Ruud did a great job, and we have continued that," Amorim stated in his post-match interview.

The result leaves Manchester United in 12th place in the Premier League standings, while Manchester City remains fifth, having won only once in their last 11 matches across all competitions. Guardiola acknowledged the need for introspection, saying, "If you're winning 1-0 in the 87th minute of the derby and your corner ends up with a penalty at the other end, if you make these stupid decisions, you deserve to pay for that."
