Kogi University has dismissed four lecturers following allegations of examination malpractice and sexual misconduct.
The decision was ratified during the university's Second Council Meeting on
Thursday, November 14, under the leadership of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.
The governing council initiated an investigation last year after serious accusations surfaced against the lecturers.
The council commended the university management for "following due process in the investigation," emphasizing their commitment to ethical standards.
Senator Ndoma-Egba stated, "The council will not tolerate any unethical conduct in the university."
This action reflects the university's zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, urging the swift processing of other pending cases, particularly those gaining media attention.
The council also issued a stern warning to staff and lecturers, cautioning them against any form of student molestation.
They encouraged students to "speak out when they are molested," reinforcing the importance of open communication between students and the administration.
