Kirsten Corley Files for Divorce from Chance the Rapper After 5 Years of Marriage

Kirsten Corley, the wife of renowned American musician Chance the Rapper, has officially filed for divorce.

The couple, who have been married for nearly six years, announced their separation earlier this year, and now, according to court records obtained by E! News, Corley has taken the formal step to end their marriage.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, and Corley have been together for over a decade. They first met as children at an office party hosted by Chance's mother and reconnected in 2012.

Their relationship blossomed, leading to a proposal on the Fourth of July in 2018, followed by a lavish wedding in Newport Beach, California, in March 2019.

The ceremony was attended by high-profile guests, including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Dave Chappelle. Despite their high-profile union, the couple managed to keep much of their personal life private. They share two daughters, Kensli, born in 2015, and Marli, born in 2019.

In a joint statement shared on Instagram the couple expressed their decision to part ways amicably, stating, "We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together."

Kirsten Corley, an entrepreneur and former model, is the founder and CEO of World of BOBY, a children's apparel line launched in July 2021.

The brand emphasizes representation and inclusivity in children's fashion, a mission close to Corley's heart. She has also been vocal about how her psychology degree influences her parenting style, focusing on child development and mental health awareness.

The news of their divorce filing comes after months of speculation about the state of their marriage. Fans had noticed signs of trouble, but the couple maintained a united front until their official announcement.

Chance the Rapper, known for hits like "No Problem," has often spoken about the importance of family, once telling PEOPLE magazine, "I've been waking up daily with a newfound gratitude and being very grateful that I'm married right now."

As the couple navigates this transition, they have requested privacy and respect from the public.
