Jega Presents Comprehensive Livestock Reform Report to President Tinubu

Prof. Attahiru Jega, the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), submitted a pivotal report to President Bola Tinubu, outlining strategic recommendations for transforming Nigeria's livestock sector.

This submission marks a step in the Tinubu administration's efforts to address and revitalize the sector. Appointed as the co-chairman of the presidential committee on livestock reforms in July 2024, Jega has been instrumental in steering the committee's work towards actionable solutions. While the specific details of the report remain undisclosed, it is expected to encompass a range of strategies aimed at improving productivity, sustainability, and economic viability within the livestock industry.

"This report is a culmination of extensive research and stakeholder consultations," Jega stated during the submission. "We believe that the recommendations will pave the way for substantial improvements in the livestock sector, benefiting farmers and the broader economy."
