Nigerian high-life sensation, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania, recently opened up about the moment in his career during an appearance on the 'In My Opinion' podcast.
The incident, which took place at a popular performance spot in Enugu, marked a turning point for the artist.
Flavour, who began his musical journey as a choir conductor and drummer in church, was performing at his regular venue when the renowned music duo P-Square arrived to promote their hit song "Temptation."
Recalling the event, Flavour said, “I remember one day with P-Square, when they just came out with ‘Temptation.’
They were promoting a show around and the promoters brought them to the spot at City Centre in Enugu.”
The venue, which Flavour had successfully turned into a bustling hub for music lovers, was packed as usual.
However, the atmosphere changed dramatically with P-Square's arrival. “With that spot, I already built fans; everybody was there every weekend. No matter what was going on in Enugu, my spot was always packed,” he explained.
The promoters, eager to give P-Square the spotlight, asked Flavour to stop his performance. “So the promoters brought P-Square while I was playing, and immediately P-Square came; the manager just said, ‘Hello, off that thing,’” Flavour recounted.
Obediently, he switched off his equipment, passed the microphone, and took a seat.
The crowd erupted when Paul of P-Square took the stage and began singing, “This na temptation.”
