‘I Shall Destroy If Disturbed’ - Lil Wayne Fires Back At Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Lyric

American rapper, Lil Wayne has responded to Kendrick Lamar's lyrics from the newly released album "GNX," which dropped as a surprise on November 22, 2024.

The album, released through PGLang and Interscope Records, features a track titled "Wacced Out Murals," where Lamar addresses the controversy surrounding his selection for the Super Bowl halftime show over Lil Wayne.

The Compton rapper reflects on the situation with lines like, "Used to bump ‘Tha Carter 3,’ I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down."

Lil Wayne, feeling the sting of being overlooked for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in his hometown of New Orleans, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his feelings.

He wrote, "Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love."

The disappointment was palpable, as Wayne had previously shared his hurt over not being chosen for the performance, stating it "hurt a whole lot" and left me "broken."

Despite the lyrical mention, Wayne seemed to place some responsibility on himself, acknowledging that he wasn't mentally prepared for the letdown. His peers, including Nicki Minaj and Birdman, also voiced their discontent with the NFL's decision.

Kendrick Lamar's lyrics further highlight the tension, noting that Nas was the only one to congratulate him on the Super Bowl gig, while others were agitated.
