Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Tems has expressed her preference for living in the present over being tethered to her smartphone.
The singer, known for her soulful music and introspective lyrics, shared her thoughts in an interview with Germany's Glamour Magazine.
Tems, who recently graced the magazine's cover, stated, "I don’t like my smartphone anyway. I prefer to live in the world and have experiences."
She elaborated on her habit of finding any excuse to leave her phone behind, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and aware. "If I have even the smallest excuse to leave my phone in the drawer, I’ll take it every time," she added.
The artist attributes her ability to remain centered amidst her rising fame to the unwavering support of her management team and family, particularly her mother and brother.
"Ultimately, you have to manage to stay present, be aware of yourself, and take care of yourself. That is the only way you can grow, constantly learn new ways of looking at life and constantly reassess life," Tems explained.
