Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made a notable statement regarding cannabis, commonly referred to as weed. In a recent episode of "The Morning Hustle" podcast, Davido expressed his view that he does not consider weed to be a hard drug.
This perspective was shared amidst discussions about his foundation's initiatives, which include planned donations to orphanages and efforts to combat drug abuse.
Davido addressed criticisms labeling him a hypocrite for supporting anti-drug campaigns while using cannabis himself. He clarified his stance by stating, "I don’t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I don’t count weed as a drug."
He emphasized the growing issue of drug addiction, particularly among youths, and highlighted his commitment to contributing to the fight against this rampant problem.
"A lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit," he added.
