Nigerian singer Ice Prince has clarified a common misconception regarding the history of African artists at the BET Awards.
Contrary to popular belief that credits Davido with being the first African artist to receive a BET award on stage, Ice Prince asserts that he was the pioneer in this achievement.
Ice Prince, who won the Best International Act, Africa Award in 2013, explained that his acceptance marked a significant shift in how African artists were recognized at the prestigious event.
"I am the first African artiste to go on a BET stage and receive an award solo," he stated, addressing the widespread misunderstanding among fans.
