Hisbah Board Confiscates Over 200 Cartons of Alcoholic Drinks in Sokoto State[PHOTOS]

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has seized over 200 cartons of alcoholic beverages at the Central Motor Park.

This operation, led by Commander Usman Jatau, underscores the board's commitment to upholding Sharia law within the state.

Commander Jatau, while addressing journalists, emphasized the importance of adhering to Islamic principles. "We urge all residents to fear Allah and refrain from activities that are prohibited under Sharia law," he state.

He further stated the need for community events and celebrations to align with religious guidelines, warning against the sale and distribution of illicit substances.

The confiscation of these alcoholic drinks is part of broader efforts to ensure that social conduct within Sokoto aligns with both religious and legal standards.

The Hisbah Board plans to work closely with the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General to determine subsequent actions regarding the seized goods.
