‘He was Treated Unfairly, Differently’ - President Joe Biden Pardons His Son, Hunter

President Joe Biden has pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, following convictions in two federal cases.

The announcement, made by the White House marks a notable shift from President Biden's earlier stance of non-interference in his son's legal matters.

Hunter Biden, aged 54, faced legal challenges earlier this year, pleading guilty to a felony tax charge in September and being found guilty in a separate case involving a false statement about a gun.

In a statement accompanying the pardon, President Biden expressed his belief that his son was "treated unfairly" and "differently" within the justice system.

He emphasized, "From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted."
