Nigerian rapper Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has recently opened up about his strained relationship with fellow artist Wizkid.
In a candid exchange on Twitter, Skales addressed long-standing rumors and accusations regarding their fallout. Despite their collaboration at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), Skales revealed that he and Wizkid were never close friends.
He stated, "I never ever switched on him. He doesn’t like me. We were never close friends either but EME members."
The tension between the two artists dates back to their time at EME, where they worked together but never formed a personal bond. Skales emphasized that he harbored no ill feelings towards Wizkid, despite the latter's apparent dislike for him.
This revelation came after Skales responded to a fan's tweet accusing him of switching sides and befriending Wizkid's enemies. Skales refuted these claims, asserting that he remained consistent in his actions and intentions.
Adding to the complexity of their relationship, Skales had previously accused Wizkid of stealing a beat to create the hit song "Azonto." However, the producer of the beat, @Legendurybeatz, clarified that Wizkid had fully paid for it, debunking Skales' allegations.
In another instance, Skales shared that Wizkid had expressed admiration for Rema, a rising star in the Nigerian music industry. According to Skales, Wizkid believes that Rema is destined to have a lasting impact on the industry.
