Gunmen Abduct GIGM Passengers in Kogi, Demand N100M Ransom

A GIGMobility bus traveling from Lagos to Abuja was violently intercepted by gunmen near Obajana in Kogi State, Nigeria.

This brazen attack resulted in the abduction of numerous passengers, with only the driver managing to escape the harrowing ordeal.

The incident has sparked widespread concern over the safety of travelers on Nigeria's major roads, highlighting the ongoing threat of kidnappings and ransom demands that plague the country.

A distressed individual took to social media platform X to share her personal connection to the tragedy, stating, “Please guys I need your help my friend who went for her convocation in Benin Republic (Cotonou) on our way back from Lagos to Abuja which was yesterday, she was kidnapped at Lokoja, Kogi State, and the kidnappers are demanding N100million for her release.”

Eyewitnesses have recounted their terrifying experiences, with one user describing how they narrowly avoided becoming victims themselves: “I drove past the incident yesterday and it was only the driver left.

This happened just after Dangote refinery at Obajana heading to Lokoja. All the windscreens were destroyed.”
