Governor Idris has officially sworn in four new High Court judges. The ceremony, held at the state capital, was attended by key government officials and members of the legal community.
This initiative is part of the governor's ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial system.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Idris emphasized the importance of a robust judiciary in maintaining law and order. "The appointment of these judges is a testament to our commitment to upholding justice and ensuring that our courts are well-equipped to handle the increasing number of cases," he stated.
In addition to the appointments, Governor Idris announced the approval of N300 million for the procurement of vehicles for the newly appointed judges.
This allocation aims to facilitate their mobility and ensure they can perform their duties without hindrance. "We recognize the challenges faced by our judges, and this investment is a step towards providing them with the necessary resources to carry out their responsibilities effectively," the governor added.
The newly appointed judges expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to uphold the principles of justice and fairness.
They acknowledged the support from the state government and assured the public of their dedication to delivering impartial judgments.
This development comes at a time when the judiciary is under scrutiny for delays in case resolutions.
The addition of new judges is expected to alleviate some of the backlog and improve the overall functioning of the courts.
