Governor Adeleke Failed Woefully in 2 Years - APC

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) launched a scathing critique of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration, accusing it of mismanagement and financial impropriety.

The APC claims that over N630 billion has been misappropriated during Adeleke's two-year tenure, with a substantial N38 billion allegedly spent on personal comforts rather than essential public services.

The opposition party's Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, described Adeleke's governance as "motion without movement," suggesting that despite the state's increased revenue, there has been little to no progress in key sectors such as education and health.

Olabisi further criticized the governor for failing to drive economic prosperity or alleviate poverty, stating, "No impactful effort to drive the people out of poverty to financial prosperity."

The APC also highlighted discrepancies in budget allocations, noting that while the Office of the Governor received significant funding, other critical areas were neglected. For instance, only 47% of the budgeted amount for personnel expenses was released by September 2024, and less than 20% of the funds earmarked for pensions and gratuities had been disbursed.
