Former Nigerian Senator Defrauded of $3.5M by South African Partner

Former Nigerian senator Ben Murray-Bruce shared his experience of being defrauded of $3.5 million by a South African business partner.

The incident occurred during an attempt to purchase a cinema complex in Kenya.

According to Murray-Bruce, after he transferred the funds, his partner deceitfully registered the business under his own name, effectively cutting him out of the deal.

"I was called to buy a cinema complex in Kenya for $3.5 million. I transferred the money and my South African partner registered it in his name.

That was how I lost that huge investment," Murray-Bruce recounted.

This unfortunate event is not the only legal challenge facing the former senator.

He is also engaged in litigation with a prominent Hollywood actor concerning his studio in Los Angeles. Despite these setbacks, Murray-Bruce remains committed to revitalizing the Nigerian cinema industry.

He announced plans to venture into movie production, emphasizing narratives that address fundamental societal issues.

"The entertainment industry is a very successful one. In all the things I have done, I have never made one move about movie making but now, I will.

I am working on a script and I know we will get it right. We will deal with fundamental issues," he stated.
