Fireboy's Hit Single 'Peru' Achieves Diamond Certification in France

Fireboy DML's hit single "Peru," released in 2021, has achieved a pivotal milestone by receiving a diamond certification in France.

This accolade marks the highest certification for a song in the country, underlining the track's immense popularity and commercial success.

The remix of "Peru," featuring British superstar Ed Sheeran, played a pivotal role in propelling the song to global acclaim.

The remix charted in over 20 countries, including a peak at No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and No. 28 in France.

The song's success is further highlighted by its impressive streaming numbers, amassing over 450 million streams on Spotify across both versions.

Additionally, "Peru" has earned a gold plaque in Denmark and has been certified 2X platinum in the UK. It is also one of the Afrobeats songs to receive an RIAA platinum plaque.

"Peru" is featured on Fireboy's third album, "Playboy," which massively contributed to his international fame. The song's success led to a BET nomination and a memorable performance at the 2022 edition of the awards.

With its diamond certification in France, "Peru" joins other Nigerian hits like Oxlade's "Kulosa," Ayra Starr's "Rush," Burna Boy's "On The Low," and Rema's "Calm Down" in achieving SNEP diamond certification.

Fireboy continues to rise globally, with the recent release of his fourth album, "Adedamola," featuring notable guest appearances from artists such as Lagbaja, Grammy nominee Seun Kuti, Lojay, and Grammy Album of the Year winner Jon Baptiste.
