The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a stern two-week ultimatum to landowners in the Maitama district, mandating the settlement of outstanding Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) fees.
Failure to comply will result in the revocation of their Right of Occupancy, as stipulated by Section 28 of the Land Use Act.
In a decisive move aimed at reinforcing compliance with land use regulations, the FCTA has emphasized that this directive applies to all title holders, regardless of their ownership status.
An official from the FCTA stated, "This initiative is part of our broader effort to implement effective reforms within the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring that public interest is prioritized."
The administration has set a fee of N5 million for obtaining a C-of-O, with a four-month window previously provided for these payments.
