"Even If I Stop Singing, My Classics Will Live On" - Celine Dion on Her Timeless Legacy [VIDEO]

Legendary 56-year-old ailing singer, Celine Dion, has expressed her confidence that she would be remembered for her classic hits even if she stopped singing in the near future.

Dion, who has been battling stiff person syndrome, stated, “I think if you’re part of one classic in your life, if you’re fortunate enough to have one classic in your life, you can be remembered for the rest of your journey if you want to stop singing tomorrow.” She added, “And I don’t wanna sound pretentious saying this but… I think I’m all set!”

Celine Dion's illustrious career spans over three decades, during which she has sold more than 250 million albums worldwide. Her international breakthrough came in 1988 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland.

She further cemented her global stardom by recording the title track for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," which went to No. 1 and won both an Academy Award and a Grammy.

Some of her most memorable classics include 'Love Can Move Mountains' (1992), 'The Power of Love' (1993), 'My Heart Will Go On' (1997), 'I'm Your Angel' (1998), and 'I'm Alive' (2000).

Despite her health challenges, Dion made a remarkable comeback performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, showcasing her enduring passion for music.

Dion's unique vocal prowess and passionate showmanship have made her one of the most successful performers in pop music history. Born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada, she is recognized as the most commercially successful Canadian singer of all time.

Her voice, described as warm, mature, and full, distinguishes her as a full-lyric singer who doesn't push or scream her belts.

In her documentary "I Am: Celine Dion," she revealed that she first began experiencing symptoms of stiff person syndrome 17 years ago. Despite these challenges, Dion remains determined to return to the stage, stating in a June 2024 interview, "I’m going to go back onstage, even if I have to crawl. Even if I have to talk with my hands, I will... not just because I have to, or because I need to. It’s because I want to and I miss it."
