EPL: Rubbish, His Overall Play Was Shocking – Roy Keane Lays Into Man Utd Star

Manchester United faced a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in a recent Premier League clash.

The match, held on Wednesday night, saw former Manchester United captain and football pundit Roy Keane deliver a scathing critique of Marcus Rashford's performance. Keane, known for his candid assessments, did not hold back in his evaluation, stating, "His general play as a footballer is shocking."

Rashford, who had been enjoying a promising start under new head coach Ruben Amorim, was brought off the bench in the second half. Despite his previous success, including scoring three goals under Amorim, Rashford struggled to make an impact against Arsenal. His performance was marred by repeated errors, including conceding the corner that led to Arsenal's second goal.

Keane, commenting during a live watch-along on The Overlap, expressed his disappointment, saying, "Since Rashford’s come on, his general play as a footballer is shocking! Have United’s subs given them anything since coming on? He has been just so sloppy with the ball."

This inconsistency has been a recurring theme in Rashford's career, often oscillating between moments of brilliance and periods of underperformance.

At 27, questions remain about whether he can achieve the consistency required to be a world-class player. Despite netting seven times this season, Rashford's form has seen him fall out of favor with the England national team, missing out on the Euros last summer.

Keane also voiced his frustration with Manchester United's overall performance, describing it as lackluster and suggesting that the players were merely "going through the motions."

He remarked, "I'm really disappointed with Manchester United. I thought the players were going through the motions a little bit. It was easy for Arsenal. The first half was fine but I was expecting a bit more."
