Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested that Raheem Sterling could step in as a temporary replacement.
This announcement follows Arsenal's narrow 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, where Arteta provided insights into the club's plans amidst Saka's injury setback.
Bukayo Saka, who is sidelined for over two months due to a hamstring injury, leaves a significant gap in Arsenal's lineup.
Arteta, speaking at a post-match interview, expressed optimism about Sterling's potential role in the squad. "We’ll have Raheem Sterling probably less time than we expected so that’s good news," Arteta remarked, hinting at Sterling's quicker-than-anticipated return to full fitness.
The manager's comments have ignited discussions among football analysts, including Martin Keown and Alan Shearer, regarding the best approach to fill Saka's void.
The injury is considered a major blow to Arsenal, emphasizing the need for tactical adjustments and strategic player management during the upcoming January transfer window.
Arteta also conveyed his hopes for maintaining squad health moving forward, stating, "Hopefully we won’t have any more injuries."
